i like, know shit about it now. it feels good to know things. i like gaining knowledge. i dont understand when people dont apply themselves and try to do the same.
fauvism- matisse. bold colors, thick lines.
dada- a joke on art itsself, undermines the notion that art has meaning. man ray.
suprematism- transcendental; doesnt use images or objects to evoke feeling. raw emotions blah blah blah.
constructivism- building sculptures out of pieces
cubism- picasso. synthetic cubism= collages.
realism- paintings about boring, everyday life. courbet or whoever said that painters should only paint from their time period and only their immediate surroundings
romanticism- either depicted nightmarish images (saturn eatings sons/ fransisco goya) or soft colors, outdoor images
futurism- futurists liked industry, were like socialists. many died in the war because they supported it and joined the military.
surrealism- connections to freud, mind/body/conscience divisions, dreams were depicted. dali, obviously.
post impressionism = van gogh
