am i needy? clingy? stupid?
i am so confused.
well today we went downtown and for once i had some christmas money to shop with and i got a bunch of c00l sh1t. we went to south congress which i havent been to since south by im pretty sure, which is a good nine months or so. so anyways we hit up st vincent de paul first because we always get there last and theyre always closed early! so i got this cool andy warhol shirt and a black dress for like 17 dollas! i also found this cool shirt of some band and the back was signed by that band but i didnt get it becuse what if they were a crappy band? also i went next door to that american apparel and i got a v neck haha but also some purple tights to go with the dress. i probably should have gotten those orangey-red looking ones instead. but there were too many options so whatever. and the people working there were actually nice for a change, like one actually asked how i was doing and i was like have the bad economic times called for the unfathomable niceties that were previously lacking or something? oh and also there was this sound team (i think) shirt there and it was all vintage-y looking cause if it wasnt it would burst into flames upon entering the store, either that or immediately disintegrated into a vintage=y state, like pouring water on the wicked witch of the west. and the back was signed by the band which was really awesome, cause i think they are from here. check out bill baird's side project sunset if you, my loyal nonexistent readers, get a chance. anyways so then we walked around a bit (love that word) and went into the monkey wrench or whatever..that toy store, you know the cool legit one? anyways there is soo much cool shit in there its crazy. like i saw this obama magnet and it said "the president of the united states of america: now 20% more funky" yeah that was awesome. and there was this mixtape book and i was like ah cool! but it turned out to be quite disappointing because it was just pictures of mixtapes and things and all the handwriting was illegible. then we went into this antique store i think it is called uncommon objects and there was this tiny leather purse, just like the one i had that got run over and ruined, but tinier. but i didnt get it because it was so goddamn tiny. there were a bunch of old photographs of random people and i really wanted to get a few but they were like a dollar fifty for each one which was kind of ridiculous. eventually though i will start collecting them and framing them and telling people theyre my family. hmm then we went to sound on sound or friends of sound or whatever that record store is called, and it's always weird walking there because its behind soco and you have to go down this alley to get to it, and the whole time youre walking down the alley youre thinking what if it isnt there and i get raped haha but it was there and they had a bunch of cool old records and shit. there was an awesome Head On The Door LP there but i didnt get it because i no longer have a record player. when i was in there i kept thinking of how little i know about music and trying to think about about the most obscure bands i could (daedelus) because they always play obscure music in those sorts of places. anyways we finally get to parts and labour and it was super cool and i got a shirt that says "stop dallasing austin" which is very true. they need to stop building all those fucking condos. i dont like it when the skyline changes. then some lady stopped me on the street and started talking to me about the environment, which made me feel bad about myself. shame on me. we stopped by tesoros and i wanted to get one of those virgin mary bracelets that everyone has because theyre so fucking awesome, but it was 27 dollas and i had no mo dollas. also i forgot to mention, when we were driving through east austin we passed by ms bea's and i was like I WENT TO A SHOW THERE ONCE and my dad was like really?! cause its basically just a little shitty bar in sketchy ass east austin and i was like yes, for sxsw, so it's okay. anyways that was a cool bit of nostalgia. that night was like a dream, it was a little blurb in my memory and i never saw that place ever again until now and it was really strange like that. yeah so katie and micheaeaeal were driving through town in order to get to denton but their car overheated and they were stuck in some car repair place so we went and suprised them and talked for a little bit, and they had their doggy lucy and she looked very happy to see me. anyways after that we went home. and i typed this. cause i like doing that, and then reading it months later. i would really like to order a pizza from papa john's right now. i really would.
